The following is a moving essay, one with which I can personally identify.

The Life That Terri Schiavo Left Behind

.........................

From the St. Louis Archdiocese, (subscription)

Although Terri Schindler Schiavo has been dead for more than six months, her memory still lives on, thanks to family members who continue to spread the message of her story.

Terri, who suffered from brain damage and died in March after her feeding tube was removed, the result of a highly publicized and embroiled family battle, was the topic of a workshop on end-of-life issues presented by her brother, Bobby Schindler, at the 29th annual archdiocesan Respect Life Convention in Downtown St. Louis Oct. 16.

Speaking to a standing-room-only crowd of more than 300, Schindler shared the timeline of the last 15 years of his sister’s life and the facts surrounding her case, which he said "were rarely reported by the media."
