In town to blast a union dues initiative as "ultimately bad for our democracy," actor-director-activist Rob Reiner found himself nudged Thursday to put his celebrity to work for the Democrats as a candidate for governor.

Every day my hobby as a satirist gets easier and easier...

Personally I think he probably wasn't looking forward to the whole "Governor Meathead" beating he knew was coming.

Just another Hollywood liberal scum bag, trying to sink the state of California deeper into the cesspool of liberalism that it already is. And where else to go, other than the liberal anal orifice of the state, San Freakcisco.

If they hated the moniker "Governor Moonbeam," they're REALLY gonna hate "Governor Meathead".

Awww, geeezzzzz ... STIFLE Y'SELF!

"I really wish you would one day run for governor because people want movie stars and television stars" in office.

Agreed. Now where's Gary Coleman when you need him.

As fun as it would be to see Reiner run and lose, there is something about potential "you can't beat our meathead" slogans that has me a little uncomfortable.

Yes... MeatHead will follow him everywhere he goes. Exception: the younger generation doesn't have a clue about the nickname and the connotation that is gives. They probably don't even know who Rob & Laura or Ward & June is.

"Governor Meathead.

Has a nice ring to it."

Not really, it's what we have in Ohio, and it's painful.

He also said there's a chance he may someday try to get himself elected to something.

May I suggest coroner? His new nick could be deadmeat head.
