September 29, 2005 -- MEN are dogs. No, really. Men are dogs, according to a new book causing a stir in Britain called "Everything I Know About Men I Learnt From My Dog," which says there's a reason canines are man's best friend. They eat from the same bowls.

"There is really no difference at all between men and dogs when it comes to natural instincts and behavior," writes British socialite Clare Stapes, a former model who has been linked to mutts like musician Robbie Williams and actor Dougray Scott.

I don't know. I try to scratch my hubby's tummy and he doesn't seem to enjoy it the way my dog did.

Men are the same as dogs huh?I shall take that as a compliment because all the dogs i have ever known were loyal, faithful and loving.Having said that or in other words, the B---H term seems better suited to 2 legs than 4!I had much rather see a dog chasing its tail than a woman chasing her career along with the misguided belief she is somehow superior to man.

I mentioned this book to my wife when I saw the article. Her response was something along the lines of "and there are people out there who did not know this?"

I've never humped a leg either.

Well, not a man's leg.

"Some of this is good common sense," says Sharyn Wolf, a psychotherapist and couples counselor in Manhattan.

"It's general wisdom offered in a playful, witty way and that's all good. No one will offer you unconditional love and loyalty like your dog, but he's also just as likely to pee on your leg as he does a tree."

Ms. Wolf probably knows less about men than she does dogs.
