Look Jorge what matters is that you are a little bit wrong. How many times have you been to Europe? Small countries you say, but still small independent countries. Then I can say the GDP of NAFTA.

Yes this is PPP. I just was in on a thread about military. The people there liked to use real GDP numbers instead of PPP because international trade. Most small countries trade much more per capita than bigger.

4 Luxembourg 78.5
5 Canada 80.0

6 Sweden 80.2
7 Switzerland 80.5
8 Ireland 77.7
9 Belgium 78.9
10 United States 77.4

11 Japan 82.0

I care about those numbers since I live in on of those countries and NOT in Germany, Italy, UK or France. To me their lifestyle does matter what matter is how I live in my own independent non EU country. Actually I would rather live in small country than a big one. The country I like the most is actually Luxembourg. With great medieval castles just like from fairy tales.

In fact most of the '2000 year old european war history' that was quoted we have in common. There is no US history to be differentiated from the European history on that scale of time.

Under no circumstances I would try to take your lifestyle as a flaw or a cultural disability like some europeans do.

But you guys still use the double amount of fuel per head then we do - and we get places too.

I'd sure love to get around in a Humvee - but as things develope today I learn to love my ford mondeo 4 stroke diesel with 320 NM torque (8-9 secs to 55 mph) and 10 US cent for fuel per mile (if I converted correctly).

Did I mention we have no speed limits on many higways :)

Hmmm you handle statistics witout any care, don' you ?
What makes you derive that 'Every US citizen is spending way more on health care' from the average spendings ?

By saying so you would assume an equal distribution of health spendings even under coal mine workers and hollywood stars. Can that be correct ?

By the way - death rate among new born children per birth are 7 times higher in the US than in germany and you get 10 % less life expectation over there - altough you didn't loose that many men in WWII. Oh - and you get more calories per day - that sure is a sign of a better life style is it ;-)

Source of facts: www.weltinzahlen.de (sorry - not in engl.)

I am not handling statistics without any care. Statistics shows a general trend and those numbers says a lot about efficiency.
