FoxNews is running a report about the LA politicians' request for money. They want $Billions.
FoxNews said, if they get what they request, that will average out $50,000 per person in LA.
If the US Congress doesn't do a full investigation of the LA corruption, before sending one cent, Congress needs to be replaced.
One Levee Board member was being interviewed by phone on FoxNews. She said she could point to many examples of misappropriated funds. She said she knew of one project where a hefty check was giving to a contractor to re-roof buildings. Those buildings were, however, already scheduled to be demolished. She said, at one LB meeting, she wanted to ask something about the levee; she was told, at the Levee Board meeting, that a discussion of the levee was not on the agenda.

It's early.. java just kickin in...
What does 700 non-existent cops on the payroll have to do With Nagin's meeting with Louis Farrakhan and asserting that the levees were broken on "purpose". Maybe there are also non-existent levee divers?

I took a quick look up the dial and no other TV station carried the presser. Thanks to the New Media, the only thing the MSM's attempted information blackout did was draw attention to why the Old Media is dying. Long live the New Media.

Wasn't that something? I called my congresspeople and told them NOT ONE RED CENT until they guarantee supervision of the money from someone outside Louisiana! And they could forget about funding alligator farms and such!
Mary Landrieu was salivating over all that money supposedly going down there; I SAW her in an unguarded moment on television, and Guennie, you could see the dollar signs in her eyes!

The Dennis Quaid, Ellen Burkin movie, THE BIG EASY, is the movie to rent this week-end. Sexy, crime, mystery, drama, set in New Orleans, and the theme is cop corruption. (sex and violence galore, so not for everyone, but it's got lots of suspense, and great music too.)

Holy Moly!
Please let this get out into the real world.
NOLA and LA rulers are beyond disfunctional,
they are just plain evil.

For some reason I don't think she's closely related to the Governor.

Did you catch Hannity & Colmes last night? They were running a crawl along the bottom of the screen for the first couple of segments with all the pork from Landrieu's and Vitter's list of demands. The mayor of Baton Rouge was also on and asked about the spending. That man is as big a sleaze as his counterpart in NO, and has as big a sense of entitlement. It's looking to me like the who darn state stinks.

Was wondering as I watch this man, if he owned a house on foreign soil yet. .
. . ..he looked more than depressed; was more than defensive and without knowing the precise question. . .he looked guilty as well.

CW, I thought of something else about this, and just want to throw it out to the thread. Remember initially the death toll was supposed to be in the thousands. I wonder if the 'phantom cops' were going to turn up missing (and wind up in the massive death toll). Entire phantom families could go missing as well. Of course, their homes, their records (tax info), their cars, etc. would all wash away as well. Also, if you have phantom cops, you have to have phantom police stations, cars, vans...they too could have all been washed away.
Just a thought...

Any how much of the audit trail was washed away in the floods?

Outstanding post. Thanks.

This might be trickier than it looks to unravel, unless those involved continue the past habit of not being able to shut up when a camera is rollingIt's not going to be all that tricky once the feds get involved. They'll get involved because banks would have had to be used and because federal money was given to cities to increase their police forces.....remember that little boondoggle?
Of course, this will lead to other investigations, like FEMA money given to the states for emergency preparedness etc.
It would appear that Katrina brought a BIG broom with her when she decided to hit NO. You know what they say about it's an ill wind that blows nobody good.
