[Behind Liberal Lines]

The Carmela character is one of the most complex, and hilariously funny, hypocrites ever created. In the first episode of the first season she hears somebody trying to get into the second floor, grabs an AK, chambers a round, goes out and points it ....Then, when Tony decides AJ needs more discipline in his life and tries to send him to a military academy, Carmela loudly protests, complaining that they actually DRILL WITH GUNS.

Yeah, the writing on this show is great that way.

What I really like about the humor is it's so dry. Nobody mugs for the camera or attempts to get laughs. It just comes out naturally from the script, who they are, and what they're doing. That shows real writing skill.
