The best thing going for this project is Meyer. He wrote a good Star Trek film in "The Wrath of Khan."

Yeah, Nicholas Meyer is a good writer & pretty good director, in my experience. Besides his work on Star Trek II, IV and VI I've read a couple of pastiche Sherlock Holmes novels he wrote, one of which he made into a movie (The Seven Percent Solution).
