Unlikely. No real talk about this since the Boom days of the early 1980's. Alberta wants more political power but is not willing to walk out of Canada if it doesn't get it. It's probably because the soon-coming Conservative minority government will give more power to western Canada. It's just a matter of time before the Liberals fall. The danger to Alberta is the Liberals might destroy the oil economy before the fall - just out of vindictiveness.

Kuey-Bek would send in the Forces.......(but Alberta would be an excellent 51st state IMHO.)
