I'm pretty sure if you use any HTML whatsoever, the auto-linking is disabled and you have to do it manually.

and optionally add target="_blank" to make the link pop up in a new window:

Dan if this link works, it did so because I copied and pasted it from comstock's URL. If it worked for me, it should have worked for comstock.
