Even the governor of Louisiana is looking at Rita as a distraction from getting over Katrina. When all is said and done, it will be Rita that has left the biggest scar on Louisiana.

The communities are tiny. They were abandoned. Everyone knew they would flood, and those at the eye would be destroyed. Cameron was at the eye. And the cameras just got down there today.

I have seen this on FOX all day. The devastation is extreme. It reminds me of Mississippi, and Alabama 3 weeks ago.
May GOD help them and bless them.

When you decide to build on the beach, you need to be prepared for the devastation that the beach can bring your way. Living on the beach, in other words, is not all moonlit beachwalks. And the fools who can't realise that, I have no sympathy for......
I pay hard earned cash to insure my property against all kinds of disasters, if they didn't, then I can only say, "Oh well."

----When all is said and done, it will be Rita that has left the biggest scar on Louisiana.---- No, not even close. Rita did a great deal of destruction, of course, but Lake Charles was not dealt a death blow. There have only been two deaths reported at my last check, and the residents of the whole area will return, rebuild, and resume life. Callous as it may sound, as hurricanes go, Rita turned out to be pretty average.
Katrina, on the other hand, destroyed the largest city in the state and a huge chunk of Louisiana's economy with it. The loss of life was exponentially greater. There actually can be a recovery from Rita for this state; Katrina's effects are catastrophic and permanent.
We got very lucky with Rita.

its almost like the MSM whores are only concerned about NO's period, like all the white crackers living in Mississippi and Texas and Lousisana don't count, as well as the thousands and thousands of blacks outside of NO's.....

I caught a news report today on NewsPundit.net that said German reinsurers are assessing the mounting damages from both hurricanes. Most of the damage has been caused by flooding. At least 75% - 90% of all potential damage claims will be denied.
The victims of Katrine and Rita have years of expensive litigation ahead of them. Nobody in the MSM is even talking about hurricane victims being disappointed after they filed insurance claims. Thus far, their focus has been on FEMA's inadequate response, Bush's political fall out, and anti-war demonstrations.
The MSM ought to be focused on several new issues: (1) 350,000 displaced voters from Louisiana transplanted to other states, (2) At least 200,000 jobs lost forever, (3) Thousands of homes destroyed that will not be rebuilt because of insurance disputes, (4) Financial hardship of people whose insurance claims will be denied outright, and (5) The financial impact on the court system of massive insurance litigation claims that may go nowhere.
As usual, the MSM is asleep or just out to lunch.
