If you have a lot of trash, be advised:
"The city of Houston will resume its regular trash pickup schedule today. Storm debris should be bundled and placed next to garbage can for pickup during scheduled service. Regular heavy trash will flow its regular schedule. Any heavy trash can also be discarded at neighborhood depositories at 5565 Kirkpatrick, 9200 Lawndale and 5100 Sunbeam."

Houston had suspended trash pickup since Thursday. That just happens to be my pickup day. My can holds exactly one weeks worth of garbage. I can set out extra garbage in bags if I buy a special tag for it. Obviously, I have extra trash this week. I was wondering if the city expected me to tag this trash, given the circumstances. Wife made a phonecall and found out: they don't.

It's unlikely I'm alone on this, so I post the info for whatever it's worth.

My aunt lives in Splendora, TX and her phone seems to have been out ever since the storm. All I get is a funny busy signal sound when I dial her up.
