I found gasoline today at the Krogers at Mason Road and Westheimer Parkway. That's about 15 miles north of you, but it may be worth a shot. You might call them first to make sure they haven't run out.

Thanks for the info.

I don't really need to race around to find gas though. I've got pretty much everything I need for awhile here already.

Sure, I'm anxious to get back down to Galveston to survey that house, but for now I'll just sit back and let folks who are in a more desperate situation get the fuel.

I'm happy to have the A/C back and a goodly stock of cold beer.

There is a poster that got his hard in Miss. from Katrina, and her gas station owner started having people make "appointments" to get gas....

She said it worked well....she would call up and he would say to come at 3:00, which she did, and didn't have to wait in line and waste gas...

I thought it was a brilliant idea....of course, a gas station in a major city on a main thoroughfare might not be able to do that...but it seemed to work in that one instance.
