Governor Schwarzenegger backs parent notice on abortion (Prop. 73)

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger came out on Friday in favor of an initiative that would require parents to be notified before their daughter has an abortion if she is under the age of 18.

Schwarzenegger, who called the special election for Nov. 8, announced his position on all of the propositions although he had already endorsed four as part of his plan for changing government. He will not actively campaign for the other measures, however.

Schwarzenegger told the Sacramento Bee in an interview earlier this week that he would "kill" someone who took one of his own daughters in for an abortion. He has four children, including two teenage daughters.

While he clarified the remark to say that he would not literally kill someone, he said it makes no sense that a school notifies parents about a child receiving first aid after a schoolyard scrape or fall but that a minor can have an abortion without her parents' knowledge.

The trolling was almost a year ago and they had their own account. It's amazing the mods got it.

I agree. In fact I believe that if a man like A.S. just sticks to his guns and gets his message as to WHY what he wants to do is the right thing to do he will win this battle. Bush needs to do the same. We all know how phony the polling is and that has become perhaps the last fall back weapon for the left. They cannot convince anyone by stating their positions and goals so they have to convince others that they are wrong to support the Republicans and then use the phony polls to bolster their position.

An excellent endorsement by the governor. In this I support him whole-heartedly for his expression of the appropriate sentiments of any parent.

This one goes on the list as a plus.
