OK, my previous post is there, let's see if this one makes it unscathed:

We have no reason to leave our home and we have plenty of provisions, so please consider me and my daughter accounted for -- yay!

There was a Tornado Warning scheduled to hit Alexandria at 1:30 am CDT. Fortunately, all of you were here with prayers and support and the next thing I knew, the Tornado Warning had been called off.

When a call came in on my cell phone and woke me up around 7:30 am, I was almost feeling sheepish for spending so much money yesterday on emergency provisions. As if on cue, though, the power went out and I chuckled as we watched our battery-operated TV and gobbled Klondike bars for breakfast. Every time the power came back, I tried to post here, but it would cut out again in the midst of my pontificating, LOL!

But before I go, I have to share a neat survivalist discovery with you, which I will also post on the Live thread, so pardon the repetition...

Just before the hurricane, I went shopping in the coffee aisle at Kroger and found these Wolfgang Puck flavored lattes in individual self-heating cans. They're really neat. You flip the can over on the bottom, pull back the the pop-top ring, and push a button which causes some sort of chemical reaction that heats the can to 140 degrees in 6-8 minutes. Then you turn the can right-side up and there's another flip-top ring ....

My screen is flickering so I couldn't complete my last post. Anyway, the Wolfgang Puck lattes rock when you don't have a way to make hot coffee, try 'em and see!

Thanks again to all -- gotta GO!
