Houston seems to have made out pretty good. I'm worried about those who decided to go east when they left. I'm afraid some of them ran right into the storm.

aye, a girlfriend of mine's parents came and scooped her up, took her home right on Lake Livingston... where the poor thing watched her carport get ripped in half!

It's a good thing we lost power when we did. I woke up around 3 A.M. from the heat, and kept my friend calm via text messaging throughout the worst of it. At one point, they couldn't pick up any AM signal, so I was their eyes and ears. Simply amazing.

Thank God Rita weakened. Despite the panic mode and hoarding, there were some folks out there that were truly unprepared.
