There was a report an hour or so ago...crew drove from the hotel in Nassau Beach through Clear Lake and Seabrook...no flooding, just branches down and some wires down. They made it to the Gulf Fwy...

If there's any coastal flooding in Harris County from this, it would probably be there, so the fact that there isn't any is a good sign. I think what's passing through Houston right now is an outer-outer band.

Wow I wonder what the storm surge is in Cameron.

Calcasieu River at Cameron, LA
Last reading was at 1:35AM CDT. No real storm surge yet - about 7 feet.

KPLC - Part of the Lake Charles airport terminal has collapsed, per airport manager via NWS Lake Charles Office.

The only resemblance between I45 and the Superdome was that there were 22 guys on I45 who could beat the Saints.

Power just went out for a second. Back now. Oak trees shouldn't fall on the house...I think!

KPLC - Airport collapse at arrival area near TSA office. New part of airport, they think. A lot of glass in the area.

They just got an email from a guy on a boat at the city dock reporting a 90 mph sustained winds and 120 gusts. (!!!)

The airport terminal in Lake Charles (the arrival terminal) has just collapsed.

Power fluctuations aren't good for computer equipment. Stay safe, and may those oaks stay standing.

We always have to worry about the trees here during monsoon season. Oaks must put down some pretty deep roots, they withstand a lot of weather.

The local guys said it might have been the newest part of the airport, which was "very nice". As someone who has flown out of that airport, let me say....nah, they are getting pummeled enough from the storm.
