Not sure if this will happen with y'all- after Charley came through here it smelled like HEAVEN outside in the morning... from all the "pruning" done by the wind. Hard to describe it- but it was clean, earthy and piney..really permeated the air.
When Frances came a few weeks later I was so looking forward to it again- but...nothing. Turns out there was nothing left to "prune"!
I'll let ya know when it's over. I've got 5 water oaks, 2 pines and 3 southern magnolias. My front yard hasn't seen the light of day since the Carter administration.
