Bleach is just chlorine--best disinfectant there is. You don't want to drink it, but it will clean up water. It's the main "cleaning fluid" I use, and it's relatively cheap.
great, just great~
The current radar loop at
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/lix_N0Z_lp.shtml
is also worthy of dialup time
I have cracked the safe open.
It has started to get windy.
My neighbors offered me the use of one of their chain saws. I have fuel and oil. It works out, so don't feel bad that you looted my saw, cat food and bullets!!
That's basically what they do when they chlorinate your tap water or a pool.
Oh dear. I have that same issue with my aunt here. Thing is, the water from the faucet uses the same chemical chlorine that gets the clothes white. If ya have to, let somebody else add the bleach to the water and pretend you don't know. :-)
There is apparently a Philippe 'eater' south of him to be concerned about-
THE LEFTWARD BEND IN TRACK CONTINUES...AND INITIAL MOTION ESTIMATE
IS NOW AROUND 290/16...ALTHOUGH THE SHORTER-AVERAGE SPEED IS EVEN
FASTER. PHILIPPE IS CAUGHT IN THE FLOW AROUND A LARGER
DEEP-LAYER CYCLONIC CIRCULATION CENTERED ABOUT 200 N MI TO THE
SOUTH. IN FACT...PHILIPPE NOW HAS THE APPEARANCE OF AN EMBEDDED
LOW-LEVEL VORTICITY MAXIMUM...AND MAY NO LONGER HAVE A CLOSED
CIRCULATION. SINCE THE LARGER CIRCULATION TO THE SOUTH IS BECOMING
THE DOMINANT WEATHER SYSTEM...THE OFFICIAL FORECAST CALLS FOR
PHILIPPE TO BECOME ABSORBED AND DISSIPATE WITHIN 24 HOURS.
HOWEVER... IF PRESENT TRENDS CONTINUE...PHILIPPE COULD DISSIPATE
EVEN SOONER.
Ch.11's Dr. Frank:
No sign yet of a turn further to the north, current track brings the eye over or just east of Galveston. May indeed come in at Galveston instead of Port Arthur. NHC is still calling for a High Island landfall, around 2am.
Galveston news conference:
If a High Island hit, Galveston is expecting 75-90mph winds, the worst likely from 8pm-midnight. 7' surge level on the island.
A large helicopter just flew over my house heading toward SE Tx. From the rear it looked like a blackwawk.
It was loud and rare enough to walk outside to see whats up.
Good news imo.
Oh duh! I forgot to add, if you add some lemon juice to the water you won't get the sensory perception of bleach. If it's a large container of water like a 5 gallon water jug or something just drop a whole lemon down there. Anyway, that's what we do for my aunt.
LOL!
