I believe you said, on yesterday, that this would hit NOLA. Most everyone else thought it was going closer to Houston or close by..

The eye of Rita will pass within 20 miles of the French Quarter.

The reason I know this is, I just know how life happens. Things that are maximally inconvenient are the things that happen. Lightening ALWAYS hits in the same spot, OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and .....

Hey Laz,

You're going out on a limb, aren't you?

You're naming names there...20 miles from the FQ. I've had this feeling that NO might get hit again because last year it seemed like the Panhandle was the magnet and every storm just migrated there.

And storms this year and last (katrina, Ivan, even Charley did move more easterly than thought), so maybe your limb isn't too weak.

It may hit closer than 20 miles. I would not be that surprised if the French Quarter took a direct hit.
