You guys may dodge a bullet if this thing continues to lean eastward. My wife's family is scrambling to get out of Lake Charles, which will be in that deadly NE quadrant. They're going up to Toledo Bend, to their lake houses. Only problem is these are mobile homes and I don't think they're going to be safe there.

But, my B-I-L, Presley (yes, he was named after Elvis) said "Oh, man. We got plenty beer, and I'm gonna boil some crawfish tonight, so we'll have plenty to eat. We'll make it just fine."

Crazy cajuns. As long as there's food and beer, they ain't worried about nuthin'!

I hope your right! We moved to Houston from Beaumont 5 years ago. Beaumont has a similar doomsday situation to New Orleans. If Rita heads up the mouth of the Sabine, most of Beaumont could be flooded. Speaking of Cajuns, we cooked a big pot of Gumbo last night. We will be eating well until we lose power. Don't think Gumbo tastes very good cold.

My two brothers are coming from Lake Charles to stay with us.
I just spoke with the law in this town, and they are worried about all the flooding and high winds we are going to get.
Our home is surrounded by huge trees. I'm starting to get a little tense.
