We're north of houston, in Spring .. riding it out with 3 kids and 3 dogs ...
Hey there, girl! How are you?
Done! Thank you and be safe and check in whenever you can. :)
Mother in law on phone now from Richmond. They are evacuating.
We are west of Houston. Haven't decided yet but leaning toward riding it out, but it could change tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with my mom. I've now officially got two idiot cousins and an idiot niece staying in the Pasadena area. Here's prayers that next Monday we're able to chew them out for making us worry so much.
Please stay safe.
Are you thinking of leaving?
OK signing off here to find the parking lot that is headed to north LA Right now I will be lucky to get out of our subdivision. Take care all & blessings to you.
I'm doing pretty good, how about yourself?
Wow, since typing that first sentence...what sounded like 8 gunshots in nearby apartment building...cop is driving around....don't see anything....Gary is next complex over and said a bunch of people came running out to see..(sounds smart).
Thinkin' about ya! Take care, friend.
FReeper sign-in thread re Hurr. Rita. Good luck to everyone.
Sending you FReepmail about your niece.
Hopefully, we won't get hit too badly, but we are making some preparations, just in case.
Since we don't really know what to expect, I hope that your niece goes on to Waco so she will be with family. If she stays, we will be here if she needs anything.

The parking lot at my old apartment at A&M used to get flooded, and cars would float away. That's what I remember. Of course, this would always happen the first day of school also (or it seemed that way back then).
I would be more concerned about her handling being without electricity for several days. Hopefully she was able to buy some food.
However, I remember that I got stuck at A&M during a snowstorm before classes started for the 2nd semester. We had electricity, but you couldn't drive around. We were stuck in the dorms, and there were no cafeterias open on campus. We had to walk to the grocery store and there was 1 pizza restaurant that was open. We had a blast!!!
Here's praying she has fun if she gets stuck there.
Great idea, Howlin. As for me, I'm south of Austin. Supposedly, we're going to get 90-100 mph winds, but I'm not sure. I know I'll be on the edge of my seat if someone fails to check in.
You too, friend. Thank you.
Prayers going up for all.
Good to hear :)
It depends. We will decide tomorrow. In the mean time, we will be boarding up our windows either way. Thanks for caring.
