Please list some more "Sheilaisms" I need a good laugh today...what a boob!

( 8/3/2003 ) The congressional newspaper the Hill reported this week that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) feels that the current names are too "lily white," and is seeking to have better representation for names reflecting African-Americans and other ethnic groups.

"All racial groups should be represented," Lee said, according to the Hill. She hoped federal weather officials "would try to be inclusive of African-American names."

A sampling of popular names that could be used include Keisha, Jamal and Deshawn, according to the paper

The Hill.com reports that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) is upset that the current roster of hurricane names does not include any "black" names. "All racial groups should be represented," she says.

I know you think I'm making this up, but I'm really not.

Lee apparently wants to read headlines that say, for example, "DeShawn Kills Fourteen in Louisiana" or "Keisha's Killing Spree Said Likely to Continue." What better way to mark the progress of blacks in our society?

UPDATE: Eugene Volokh (who is Jewish) has picked up on the story as well. He is insisting on the names Irving, Haym, and Shmuel.
