The defense attorney for the owners of the nursing home said they were waiting for a mandatory evacuation order from the Parrish President, Mr. Broussard, which never came. They are arguing that Broussard is at fault, not themselves.

That should be an interesting trial, then. I wonder if Court TV will broadcast it? I think a lot of facts will be placed into evidence that might just give the prosecutor second thoughts. Watch for a sweetheart plea bargain to be arranged at the last minute. If Broussard comes up with a pre-dated evac order, they better have Buckhead take a look.

Broussard is president of Jefferson Parish. The nursing home is in St. Bernard Parish. He had no control over Bernard Parish, or the evacuation of St. Rita's nursing home.
