To: Darksheare

The documentary is a volcano video I picked up cheap not knowing what it really was about and it turned out to be pretty good. The video shows extensive footage of the USGS team on the base and the base being evacuted as the volcano blew. There were soldiers and their families everywhere. A typhoon hit on the heels of the volcano and made a real mess of things with all the ash. I recall that because of the devastation, it was decided to abandon the base. The nearby air or naval base was rebuilt and was abandoned months later when the Phillipines wouldn't renew the contract. I'll have to watch it again, it's been years.

Amazing part about the volcano, it usually made pyroclastic flows when it erupted, but that time it didn't do what was normal for it.
If it had done a pyroclastic flow as was normal for it, the base would have been flattened as would everything around it.

Yeah, I think you're right about the timing.
