"Then they should have been watching Saddam, and preparing."

Wow, you're just the man of a thousand ready answers aren;t you.

Didn't matter, the invassion of Kuwait was complete surprise.
All indications had been that he was going to pummel either his own northern Kurds, or Iran again.

"Or had him rubbed him out."

That had been tried without success.
Saddam became more paranoid and had people murdered in his own country on the slightest suspicion, and you think Saudi Arabia could have had him killed?

Well, that points to a need to develop our own sources of energy, which means telling the environmentalists to sit down, shut up and color. Nuke plants, drilling in Alaska, more drilling in the Gulf of Mexico...we should not have our foreign policies dictated by ragheads with oil. We need to have the ability them to go pound sand.

I think April Glaspie's comments when Iraq first accused Kuwait of stealing oil was right on: It's an Arab matter.

You're again forgetting history.
I already explained it.
You are still ignoring it.

So, since you willfully ignore history, have a good evening.

"And actually, my answers have all been the same."

And your answers have been wrong every time.

Funny, I've been wiating for you to prove conclusively from Islamic history that if we pulled out of Saudi Arabia, they'd leave us alone.

CBart.. don't send me FReepmail.

"You've kinda power-bossed everybody from the room.
Are you a "plant" for this new commitee?
Do you know Jesse?
Are you certain of his credentials? Or any of the Board members on their board?
While you were "jawing", I did a google on them.
I think you might want to also.

Reply not necessary."

Now, for a response I will tell you that your FReepmail is complete and utter nonsense.
What 'commitee' are you speaking of?
If you found somethign out about the initial thread poster, then post it instead of hurling accusations at me.
Since you hurled an accusation at me in your unwarranted and unwanted Freepmail, I am under NO compunction to follow protocol in not postinig your freepmail.
IF you won't post it in forum, DON'T send it to me.

Every Muslim isn't a terrorist.

But, we need to get rid of the ones who are.

That's when the Marines were begun, so it wasn't just our navy, that was involved. You need to read more history, before you post about things you pretend to be expert in.

Where do you think that the line ".......the shores of Tripoli ", in the Marine anthem comes form?

OBL is still suffering from the Moors' losses in Spain, centuries ago. He has blamed everyone and anyone, who isn't a fanatical Muslim, for the loss of the Caliphate; which he hopes to restore.

Americans have given up some of their freedoms, during quite a few of our past wars. Thus far into the WoT, we have given up almost nothing, in comparison.

Since we haven't ever outlawed any religion, there is no precedent for doing so now and it's probably unconstitutional.

"There is only ONE way - you see a terrorist you shoot the terrorist. You may die, but you make sure that you take out more of them!"

Cause if you don't you'll die anyway and that will leave them free to take over the world. Kinda like Planet of the Apes.

Was that when that volcano, Mt. Pinatubo, blew? I saw a documentary on that and it was pretty bad. Phillipines also kicked us out, right? Or was this simply a Clinton compromising our military maneuver?

A Declaration of War was a commitment of the resources of the War Department. A President could order limited Naval actions without a declaration of war.

Actually, Jefferson did get a declaration of a state of war from Congress. He was unwilling to take anything other than purely defensive actions until he received it.

I think Clinton closed the base, and had a small token 'janitor crew' left there, and then the volcano erupted.

Not sure I recall the timing correctly, but the two events were pretty close.

And the Phillipines were upset with us being there.

If the events weren't sequential, they were at least contemporaneous within a few months.
