Yes.
He seems fixated on the idea that pulling our troops out of Saudi Arabia would keep terrorists from bothering us.
Just like they left Beslan alone.
*sigh*
"I'm not sure that he would have,"
Yes, he would have.
He massed troops on the border of Saudi Arabia in 1990, and said that he was intent on reclaiming the land that 'all' of the land the oil fields that 'belonged' to Iraq sat on.
And he did advance into Saudi Arabia.
You forgot your history, didn't you.
So?
Create a focus on ground outside the U.S. and focus on being a magnet for terrorist scum. This way they won't come here and kill civilians. At least we have them in a position to engage our trained soldiers. Seems President Bush has the same idea and it is really the only viable option.
We can't hear it or see it yet, but this train is roaring down the tracks. Paradigm shift is coming as logical consequence.
Halt immigration by Muslims. Expel any Muslim who is not a legal citizen. Put an FBI agent with a video recorder in the front row of every mosque and "Islamic cultural center" in the country. Wiretap all imams, mullahs, and "islamic activists." Wiretap any international phone calls to Muslim countries or cities in Europe with large Muslim populations. Forbid any funding by Saudi Arabia of anything, and wiretap any organization which has ever received Saudi funding. Revoke the tax-exempt status of any mosque which engages in political activity (like supporting CAIR). Ban headscarves and beards in public schools.
Most terrorism in the modern world is the work of Muslims. Therefore Islam must be the primary target in the war on terror. The Muslim religion itself is a threat to the lives and safety of Americans, and must be closely watched and controlled. Asserting otherwise is wishful thinking at best, suicidal self-deception at worst.
Forgive me. I was making an observation to my friend. Just not up to a protracted conversation tonight. Peace.
First of all, thank you for asking. It seems to me, from the reading that I've done, that alot of fomenting is done at the local mosques. I believe that a lot of activity is "hidden" and protected by the Constitution at the mosques. The local imams preach hate to their people and who knows what else goes on in the name of jihad? We have to find a way to get into these places, find out what they're doing, and stop it -- and send these dangerous people back to where they came from.
Spies, maybe?
That's what I suggested Beth. Learn the language.
And feed them PORK three times a day, until they all die.
Never let another one of them enter the US.
It is necessary to educate the American public about the true history and intent of Islam and to ensure that Sharia law, which is contrary to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and our laws is not allowed to exist. Islam is not a religion, but a political idealogy. CAIR and other Islamic propaganda organizations with ties to terrorism must be shut down. Muslim schools teaching from the Qur'an teach anti-American, anti-Christian, and anti-semetic thought. The bridge from spiritual jihad to violent jihad does not exist. The latter is a result of the former. Islamists who wish to maintain control over their people do so by using circular explanations to keep them ignorant.
Then the Saudis should have been ready for him, especially after Kuwait. Why should we worry about the Saudis, especially since they seem to be the breeding ground for all these terrorists? Why not let them kill each other?
Good night.
Go to the head of the class.
No way. Take a lazy C-. The "...hard to argue with success" mentality prevailed right through Sep 10, 2001.
In fact ragheads killing each other seems like a marvelous thing to me. Kinda like watching the Nazis and Russian Commies fight...you hope they both lose.
"Then the Saudis should have been ready for him, especially after Kuwait. "
Before we destroyed it, Saddam had the best equipped army in the mid east.
The Saudis wouldn't have stood a chance.
Treat radical islam as we treated Nazi-ism during WWII.
Back then, we knew who the enemy was and we weren't afraid of pc politics.
Secure borders, deport illegals, etc.
What a great thread. Brimming with the kind of rational common sense solutions that most Americans desire -- and are routinely quashed by the elites. The history of nations is to go down the elites' path until it hits the fan...
"In fact ragheads killing each other seems like a marvelous thing to me."
You're forgetting our interests in the area.
We didn't need Iraq invading Kuwait let alone Saudi Arabia.
That would have given Saddam a larger control of oil production, and certainly he would not have been friendly with us about it.
As it sat, he was friendlier with 'soviet bloc' nations.
In essence, giving Saddam control over a massive amount of oil would have been the same as giving the Russians a controlling share of oil production.
At the time, we didn't need that.
Remember, Russia didn't collapse into the CIS until after Desert Storm.
Then they should have been watching Saddam, and preparing. Or had him rubbed him out. All they did was breed terrorists and whine to the US about how threatened they were. Geez, do we have to burp the entire world?
