Would it be wrong to charge an admission fee of, say, 20 lbs of ice?
I live in La Porte and was told today through the school district that if it is a Cat 3 LP would issue a mandatory evac. Forced by the city. So if that is true, yes for us.
thanks, txs. you got it pretty close ;) Orange County checking in.
Yep, those signs are a hoot...LOL...
Gosh Flyer, you're sharper than I was led to believe. I have to really weigh my words around you don't I? lol
I have beer, I have good whiskey.......I ALSO have to bring ice? Sheesh.......tough crowd
'DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS'
Folks in the path should be making their own ice. Fill two-litre plastic bottles to a couple inches from the top. Leave the cap just loose enough for the air to squeeze out during expansion. Tighten the cap after it is frozen solid; start another batch. Once you have some of these frozen, they will help keep the freezers and fridges cool after the power goes out. They also work well in coolers.
lol---yeppers...
When I remember the almost hysterical four-letter word laden rant that he went on, either the day after the hurricane..or the next..on that radio station???
I KNOW this "tough guy" is a weak willed weenie...that likes to talk tough...but when the going gets tough...he moves to DALLAS!!!
Good idea....check out mine!!
Don't bother. I cat-proofed our house, but they keep getting in...
I remember that. Very low class to be cussing like that on television - showed a lack of character and an inability to stay cool under pressure
Great idea, never thought of that.
Also if anyone decides to get a hotel room, you will be paying the rack rate(hotel lingo for the highest price a hotel can charge for a room. The rates are usually listed on the hotel room door).
I'll never forget during Andrew in 92, the roach motels along 192 in Kissimmee, FL all had their "No Vacancy" signs blinking for the first and probably only time and they were probably getting over $100 a night for rooms that were going for $29 a night a week earlier.
Yea, baby! I used to live up that way...in Dallas, Bedford and Ft. Worth (Hulen area)...
Go, C'boys!
Does anyone know if the Aux list of names (Alpha, Bravo, Gamma) has ever been used to name Hurricanes? oops didn't finish my thought
Young Edgar says he'll just stand on high ground if water gets in the house.
