Values are key.

???

Are yours based on actual scriptural passages or are they part of a later tradition?

The Gospel is not based on passages and the tradition was before the books. Books are written down tradition. Christ did not write anything with the exception of the sins of the accusers, and He wrote it on the sand.

It's silly for us to bicker over the misuse of grammar and definitions of words in English.   However, with Scripture we want to be very very careful.   I'm hoping we're on the same page (so to speak) with this.   All truth comes from the Word.  I'm saying that we should start there, and follow a common path and see where it takes us.  We don't want to try and cling to some particular economic doctrine and vainly grab pieces of the Word to back up our politics.  Misuse of the Sacred Text is not silly.  It's satanic.

Let's skip all this confusion about whether the "Gospel is not based on passages...".   If you have your own definitions tell me what they are, but I suggest we use these:

gos•pel
Pronunciation: (gos'pul), [key]
n.
1. the teachings of Jesus and the apostles; the Christian revelation.

pas•sage
Pronunciation: (pas'ij), [key]
n., v., -saged, -sag•ing.

n.
1. a portion or section of a written work; a paragraph, verse, etc.: a passage of Scripture.

Scrip•ture
Pronunciation: (skrip'chur), [key]
n.
1. Often, Scriptures. Also called Holy Scripture, Holy Scriptures. the sacred writings of the Old or New Testaments or both together.
