My neighbor across the hall put a deep chasm between us last night .. he was spewing did I see how Bush let all the black people die (he's African American) because all the choppers are in Iraq, he also stole the election in 2004 (he's got it on tape), he skated going to Viet Nam .. at the end, he growled "I despise him," and refused to respond to my last comment (I was asking how his Mom is). All this as I was just entering my apartment and said hi.
I couldn't say anything calmly to rebut or disagree without him getting more enflamed... I mean he unleashed a torrent of venom. The hatred that African Americans around here (N. Illinois) live, eat, breathe and spew is breathtaking, visceral and completely unnerving.
I'm not sure I understand your point. It sounds as if the issue is with your neighbor, or perhaps a region, not a whole race of people.
