What a lucky break for our side...

Yes....... and may I mention this quote for this moment:

From baseball's Branch Rickey:

"Luck is the residue of design."

after what, a whole 10 minutes or so of questioning, CNN breaks for analysis. *sigh*

This is the ultimate in frustration. Nobody else is carrying the hearings either except CSPAM-3 which has all of 50,000 viewers. I can't get that on my TV, nor can many others.

What confirmation are you watching?

Because I've watched all of it and I can't see where you are getting this interpretation / view.

Seriously, thank you so much for putting up these threads. It's an invaluable service to us cube bound folks.

in the hearings two days ago, Roberts willingly applied the title "strict constructionist" to himself. On Camera, in front of all of us who watched the hearings.

Exactly.

I know, you heard Illinois has added some legislation along with four states to pull the troops out of Iraq?
WTFee? What do they think this is.

Is this the last scheduled day of senatorial gasbagging? Orrin Hatch was scheduled to give back some of his time to speed things along...

Leahy trying to twist Roberts words on Presidential war powers, the termination of war powers. Roberts says the line is fuzzy.

"Court TV saying two more hours of inquisitions by 6 RATS this morning. Scheduled to finish at 11 AM but watch the RATS ask for more time. Leahy up now."

Does this basically mean that if no time is granted, the next step will be that Roberts goes up for a vote on the committee?

"Is this the last scheduled day of senatorial gasbagging?"

I think the questioning is supposed to finish this morning, with statements from other folk this afternoon.

I wouldn't be surprised, by the way, if the RATS capitulated and voted for Roberts. It must be obvious even to their pinched, hate-filled brains that the guy's going to win, so it would be to their benefit to vote for him, so that they would be able to stand up and crow: "We're fair, SEE?! We're fair. We voted for Roberts..." next time around, when they try to give the next nominee a group colonoscopy.
