A few decades ago, Morford would have correctly been diagnosed as a severely mentally ill person. He would have been on meds and problem locked to protect himself. Now thanks to PCism and the MSM love of hiring the mentally defective maggots like Morford, he is considered to be a hero of the mentally ill lefties.
In any event, Texas, which is strongly Republican, took in over 250,000 refugees, and already has them placed in semi-permanent housing. As to the "hate-spitting, psuedo religious bonk jobs", true story:
Emergency Management Coordinator for McLennan County called the Latham Springs Baptist Camp (basically a summer camp facility) and asked "if we needed you to, could you put up some refugees?". In less than a day, they had several hundred beds and over a thousand meals ready, and said they could have three tractor trailers full of food coming within 24 hours. The did this just off the question, "could you?" It turns out they weren't needed, as there were so many offers of help, that Texas absorbed the 250,000 without nearly straining our capacity.
