So, the Red Crescent is allowed so the Muslims won't be offended, and the Red Magen David is not allowed so the Muslims won't be offended.
Oh, and the Red Crescent is allowed to transport weapons and suicide bombers in its ambulances through checkpoints without being searched, so the Muslims won't be offended.
I'm offended...but I'm not a Muslim.

"So, the Red Crescent is allowed so the Muslims won't be offended, and the Red Magen David is not allowed so the Muslims won't be offended. " Apparently so.
We are living in the age of insanity.

I speculate that the islamic arabs will never let Israel join the Red Cross just like the islamic countries can't define "terrorism". Beyond their collective comprehension.
To: Alouette
I've got a better idea: Why don't we figure out a way to get the U.S. out of the Red Cross? Then the U.S. and Israel could stand together, united against this despicable, corrupt organization. Let them solicit money for disasters only to funnel the money into a needle exchange program under someone else's name.

Sounds like they should adopt a red dot with a circle around it.

What is the significance of that bit of Arabic(?) script (second from right) and the ship's wheel (far right)?

You need a diplomatic conference to decide on an emblem.
And there you have crystallized so much of what is the fundamental problem with global organizations.

Doesn't count. You must claim your "offended islamite" title to be recognized.

What is the significance of that bit of Arabic(?) script (second from right) and the ship's wheel (far right)? Those are Hindu symbols.

It's not - it's the Buddhist/Hindu OM symbol

The red cross emblem was first adopted in 1863, when Swiss humanitarians founded the movement to care for war victims. It simply reverses the colors of the neutral Swiss flag, without any religious intent Except for the Muslims who started the Red Crescent society in 1863 along with it.

Note, this isn't a satanic symbol, which would be this upside-down. My point is that now every religion is going to want its own symbol as part of the Red Cross, and where will that end?
To: TaxRelief
It adds insult to injury. Those two left coast "designers" are probably antiwar protestors.
