Grassley up...it always amazes me how the good people of Iowa can elect both he AND Harkin, and keep sending them back..it's the MOST schizoid pair of senators that I can ever remember..

Each side has the right to set up the speaking order. Notice who the Dems wanted to get out of the way first.

watching the press thing with Pres of Iraq and Pres B,,I love that guy, he is all but weeping thanking our President. He is genuine, grateful and such a nice seeming man.

I think Sen. Specter handled Sen. Bag O'Gas fairly well. Telling him to shut up politely (7 times?) is better than throwing water balloons at him. That would bring up too many sinking memories...

No representative from an effected state can afford to do anything but complain that help was not sufficient, and to be overwrought about the destruction.
There is no political benefit to sounding like you don't fully appreciate the gravity of the situation, or to sound like you are not fully supporting the people of your state.

This is the longest speech by a foreign dignitary that I have heard.
To: cajungirl
I heard him say, "Thanks to the glorious American people..."
Got a lump in my throat...

I think it goes in order of seniority, with the parties alternating.

This man makes me tear up,,he is so grateful, you can tell he loves GWB.
To: Pravious
He cannot thank the President and this nation enough for what has been sacrificed. What a humble and deeply grateful man. Blech. First question up is about Katrina. Switching over to c-span.
