yes, please keep me informed.

I'm getting the run around from the district this morning and now I'm trying to get a hold of the principal to give him a heads up about the hornet's net I've stirred up with the 'elemntary school coordinator" who will be paying him a visit this afternoon.

LETTER OF THE DAY

By Michelle Malkin · September 12, 2005 11:19 AM

An infantry marine talks back to the NYTimes' Frank Rich (published in yesterday's NYTimes letters section):

To the Editor:
I am an infantry marine with 12 years of service, and I am presently stationed in Falluja, Iraq. I am also a New Orleans native and my parents live in Mandeville, which is on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain. They have lost everything.

I take issue with "Falluja Floods the Superdome," by Frank Rich. Falluja is doing quite well. I know because my marines are out on the streets every day. We've been here for almost seven months, and the difference is night and day since we got here.

Secondly, I have 20 other marines in my battalion who are from Louisiana, and not one of us considers himself a "have-not." In fact, every marine in this battalion is proud of what we have accomplished, and we are proud to be marines. Military service was a choice, not a last resort for us.

Remembering and keeping in prayer the fact your Primary is tomorrow.
You will be such a wonderful force for Him, and all those you represent!

We stand with you...

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program....

What is a Veteran?

He is the cop on the beat who spent six months in Saudi Arabia sweating two gallons a day and making sure the armored personnel carriers didn't run out of fuel.

He is the barroom loudmouth, dumber than five wooden planks, whose overgrown frat-boy behavior is outweighed a hundred times in the cosmic scales by four hours of exquisite bravery near the 38th parallel.

She - or he - is the nurse who fought against futility and went to sleep sobbing every night for two solid years in Da Nang.

He is the POW who went away one person and came back another - or didn't come back AT ALL

He is the Quantico drill instructor who has never seen combat - but has saved countless lives by turning slouchy, no-account rednecks and gang members into Marines, and teaching them to watch each other's backs.

He is the parade - riding Legionnaire who pins on his ribbons and medals with a prosthetic hand. He is the career quartermaster who watches the ribbons and medals pass him by.

He is the three anonymous heroes in The Tomb Of The Unknowns, whose presence at the Arlington National Cemetery must forever preserve the memory of all the anonymous heroes whose valor dies unrecognized with them on the battlefield or in the ocean's sunless deep.

He is the old guy bagging groceries at the supermarket - palsied now and aggravatingly slow - who helped liberate a Nazi death camp and who wishes all day long that his wife were still alive to hold him when the nightmares come.

He is an ordinary and yet an extraordinary human being - a person who offered some of his life's most vital years in the service of his country, and who sacrificed his ambitions so others would not have to sacrifice theirs.

He is a soldier and a savior and a sword against the darkness, and he is nothing more than the finest, greatest testimony on behalf of the finest, greatest nation ever known.

So remember, each time you see someone who has served our country, just lean over and say Thank You. That's all most people need, and in most cases it will mean more than any medals they could have been awarded or were awarded.

Two little words that mean a lot, "THANK YOU".

Never thought I'd be saying this, Mama_Bear, considering how highly I regard you.

"Why'd ya do it Mama?
You had to know we are only human, and not always at our Finest - -
and now we are left with J-E-A-L-O-U-S-Y rearing its ugly head within us."

We'd love to hug Da Chachi, too, ya know...:(

This bear is profoundly sorry, Lady Maggie, HOWEVER, I DO have an excuse....and it is a Fine one. The Chach insisted that I post that photo of his cute self and his new friend. Since he has me tightly wrapped around his little paws, you can surely understand that I had no choice in the matter. ;-)

Hi, Mayor! Hope you've had a good day and are ready to rumble tomorrow morning. We'll be thinking about you!

Tony Snow addressed the subject of the Flight 93 Memorial this morning with Michelle Malkin and it wss very well put together and provided good information. I'm sure he will continue to get the word out....because it is a disgrace, and Tony always stands up for right!

I am so glad he did, something needs to be done about this atrocity....

Maybe when we win the Primary tomorrow our tax revolt and Primary Clallenge will get some national coverage.
This is the most serious threat the politicans in New York state (Erie County) has ever had to face. We are changing the politics of Western NY forever.

Thanks Luv!

Put that way, The LadyX can only retract her earlier reply,
and get back in the line to properly "Ooh and ahh"
at that precious, precocious pup..:))
