It will loop because of an over-riding high. As I understand it, if that upper level high gets real strong, however, it will eventually loop it so strongly that it will pull it out to sea. We'll "sea".We had one that wandered around like that several years back off Southport. It finally did a loop and came back straight into us through Wilmington. Don't remember the name, though.
