Eharmony gave me a three month subscribtion for the price of one - I think they did it for the entertainment value

I confess I tried their $40 personal evaluation test (perpetually free). I didn't really like most of their questions and the personality profile they came up with didn't sound like me at all. Needless to say, if they are going to base matchmaking based on a profile I don't believe is true, then I'm not going to get very far with the people they choose based on it.

I tried the free portion of Eharmony out of curiosity, I'm not actively looking for a romance right now, and I did'nt care for their questions either - many of them I could not honestly answer, or my answer was too complicated to be covered by one answer. They found me 4 matches, all with kids (not looking to raise other's kids, sorry), and all striking me as typical, neurotic, "princess" types. I had zero interest in any of them.

I tend towards skinny, short redheads, myself. A temper is good, and I honestly like "bitches" - I love a woman who can stand up and defend herself.

I was going to post a long-winded rant about the dating scene in America these days, and American women in general, but it's been posted about here and elsewhere many times before, what i have to say is nothing new these days. The majority of American women are damaged goods, but I'm still on the watch for one of the good ones to come along. I'm also finding I really, really like Irish women, who were born and raised there. Dunno if that's good or bad, but it's worth exploring.

I'm taking a sabbatical from dating, anyway. I'm too bitter and worn out from being in the trenches here in Northern Cal. When I go on dating sites like match.com and Eharmony, i see too many profiles that bash conservatives (even though the values they seek are conservative), or flat out say 'Republicans need not apply". Yeesh. (And it's usually some humorless granola eating Birkenstock wearing Earth mother type, too - like I'd see that and say, gotta have it!)

Dating is just too wierd, and fraught with peril these days. I'm sitting it out for a while.
