Actually, what you have done is made quite hateful statements against Freepers that would get your teeth knocked down your throat if you were man enough to say it to their faces. "Modernman" used to do that as well, but it seems he has been banned.
The whole bunch of them are graduates from the 'DeLorenzo College of the Lost Cause'. The more they rant on, disseminating their deliberate disinformation the thiner their ranks become.
Since when is it a conservative ideal to rip the nation in pieces especially in time of war? The only war this element is enveloped with is the one against America.
It's called exposing the truth. Do you support the statements of the League of the South, reprinted from their own website on this thread?
In terms of ..get your teeth knocked down your throat" directed at me and others previously on FR.
Are you making threats again Hacksaw? It's not the first time, is it? I really hope you can back up your verbal threats against Freepers you don't know. It might also be helpful if you thought before making threats you're unable, nor would want to even think about following through on.
That's your second strike with me. You would be wise remembering what they say about that third one.
OH OH, Danger - Danger everyone!! We have a Keyboard Warrior Toughie here.
I've been following these threads for quite some time. I don't recall you adding much of anything to these threads.
Now this?
Did you happen to catch the AD MODS saying this type of threatening dirt talk is going to result in ash canning?
Keep it up and maybe you and nulu whatshisname (banned) can hang out together.
revise:
War of Northern Aggression
Yes or no?
I don't think you're gonna hear back from him on this thread, although you'd think it was an easy question for a real American to answer.
Cheers.
Greetings mac.
You are right I think.
Similar to stand watie on another thread not answering for his "hope the USA falls so the south can rise again" nonsense.
I began following these threads with a desire to learn about our country's history beyond what I have been taught . I thought myself to be impartial to either side as both sides had well read representatives making what seemed valid points.
As time has passed, the posters from the south have become far more strident, churlish etc... (watie, gianni and wardaddy have always been this way)........gone for the most part is the insight and respectful input of people like injin, pea ridge etc...
Too bad as the gentlemen from the south have been hijacked by these snotty bloviators advocating the fall of our great nation so they can raise up their own southern utopia.....t'aint so easy to remain neutral anymore in spite of the respect I have for the great warriors on both sides of the CW.
I saw it coming back in the '70's when my daughter's social study text book allowed one entire paragraph to Abraham Lincoln. Youngsters need heroes. To change a culture take away the proven ones and substitute the failures. That'll give 'em something to reach for, eh?
My flag will be flying high on Lincoln's Birthday as it always has been.
Are you saying that two wrongs make a right?
These Klansmen ought to be ashamed of themselves by the standards of the man that re-activated the Klan in the 20s and 30s. (not sure his name), but he was politically a civil liberterian, all racial politics aside. Plus they desecrated an honourable flag, that stood up for independence and liberty over an overbearing central government.
a little note for everyone, these pictures should disprove any semblance or claim on the part of the Klan on being a Christian group, the flag with the W on it is not merely mean "white power", and no it is not an endorsement for the commander in chief. The W means affiliation with the "World Church of the Creator." That is a racialist religion founded by Matthew Hale, a white supremacist doing 25 to life in prison for threatening federal agents. They completely reject Jesus and Christianity as being a tool of the Joooooos.
This is "not your father's klan," to borrow a phrase from Oldsmobile ad campaigns. They have been co-opted/corrupted/ conquered by the worst fascicst elements and even more sinister racist elemenets than the Klan itself ever was before.
OTOH, by becoming more fringe, far fewer individuals would accept their message than when it often operated with open offices on the main streets throughout the country in the 50s and 60s (and conversely, the NAACP had to operate underground during that time.). Let the skinhead/nazi types drag it further in the ground.
if I see a klan type trying to desecrate the flag of the Confederate States of America, they're liable to get punched in the face by me. Slavery was wrong, but the southern cause was an honourable one.
I hope you don't equate me with being a League of the South Moonbat.. Lee lost and surrendered. The country is a lot better now than it was or could have been before secession and the civil war. By seceeding the war and then reconstruction that followed, the nation as a whole had to examine its national soul and change the direction it was going in. I'm somewhat divided in my feelings about the subject myself, because my mother is from New York, but my father is from Louisiana and I grew up in Kentucky, which remained in the union, but became a southern state during reconstruction. Slavery was wrong, but so was the overbearing central government with its authority imposed by military might of the likes of Ulyssees S. Grant and William Tecumseh Satan, err Sherman. I think the overbearing government power concentrated in the federal government leading up to the war was far worse than holding 1.5 million persons in servitude.. With the south, the slaves may not have had freedom in the sense we think of, but not had the soft slavery that came with things like welfare, abortion and affirmative action. Those instiitutions were far more pernicous and racist than the "peculliar institution."
This is kind of where I am and I commend you for your post.
Welcome to these threads if you are new (if so you'll encounter numerous colorful moonbats from the south and some sometimes acerbic posters from the north).
My apologies if you are not new...
But I don't agree with Sherman=satan FWIW:)
It's Monday morning, I really can't recall what we were speaking on. A little assistance with the memory refresh button here. :)
It might be more obvious with the neo-Nazi skinhead types thrown in, however the Klan was barbaric & viciously racist when they were lynching people in the late 1860's. The situation in South Carolina became so out of control President Grant sent troops to crush the power of the Klan.
"Once Congress passed the Enforcement Acts, the situation shifted. One of the Acts, the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, made private criminal acts federal crimes; consequently, President Grant decreed that "insurgents were in rebellion against the authority of the United States." " He sent federal troops to restore law and order to many areas where violence was raging at its worst."
"In nine counties of South Carolina, martial law was declared and Klansmen were tried before predominantly black juries. Much of the credit for prosecuting the Klan belonged to Amos Ackerman, Grant's Attorney General, who did his best to make the country aware of the extent of Klan violence. As a result of his efforts, a few hundred Klansmen were tried and sent to jail. Thousands of others fled or were let off with fines or warnings. By 1872, the Klan as an organization was broken. By the time the terror ended, thousands of blacks and hundreds of whites had been massacred or driven from their homes and communities."
"For a moment, it seemed that peace and Republican rule was restored. Yet within a few years, the terror was reborn and Reconstruction officially ended." source.
A couple of us on here reprinted the 2005 "message" from the President of the "League of the South" to the membership attending their annual convention in the state of Georgia.
Even though America is a war, and on the verge of correctly confronting what may be the most dangerous threat to global economic security, radical Islamist Iran, the "League of the South" is demanding "action" for a separate "Southern nation" which they would politically rule over - of course.
The leadership of the "League of the South" also formed their own political party, stealing votes away from conservative Republican candidates in effect assisting the leftist Democrat Party machine.
What's worrisome, the "League of the South" & others in the overall "neo-confederate" movement never call themselves "Americans", anything but. In doing so their mindset is not geared for the continuation nor unity of the United States of America. In time of war that makes them a potential domestic threat.
Like this nation needs additional threats from Americans, weather they like the term "American" or not!
Tick, tick, tick...
Without question, I do not. Being in the union-dominated Midwest, I require the rural conservatives, Christian pro-lifers, etc, of the South as an ally in national politics to overcome the uber-urbane politics of the NE and Left Coast. Recognize, if you will, that the "Southern separatists" are only a tiny (but vocal & radical) minority which seem to exist only for the purpose of enabling you and Espinola to attempt guilt by association.
What a very strange statement, considering what I do.
If somebody decides to put on the klans' hood, they ARE klan. 100%. And are to be treated / reviled as such [Terrorist of a different stripe].
So why aren't they shot on sight? You apparently missed my point, which is that the Klan is evil beyond simple racism - someone might join because they are anti-Jewish (thank you Mark for letting me know that it is proper to always capitalize; did not know that previously), or because they are anti-Catholic, or because they are anti-internationilst/xenophobes.
Your laughable assumption that I 'defended' anyone associated with that org is misplaced; cowboyway stated (correctly) that anyone seen in the garb could be 'assumed' to be racist, and you and others attacked him for it.
