I think Ron Paul is brilliant. He is right, too, everything he said.

I especially enjoy his comments on democracy and "spreading democracy." I cringe everytime I hear Bush babbling about "spreading democracy." Democracies, unfortunately, are opposed to individual freedom. Evidence abounds.

As for the assertion implied in the posts above that we are fighting in Iraq because somehow that is taking the fight to the terrorists, that is simply absurd. Shame on you that put forth this BS. In the years to come, most of you will come to the realization that terrorism is not some "Dr. Evil" dude presiding over a unified global network of conspirators.

They hate us because we are free? You gotta be kidding me. Why don't they hate other countries that are "free?" If we weren't in the Middle East, we would not have terrorism against the US. Simple as that.

Some of you guys need to lay off the Kool-Aid and get out of the cult. Sooner or later, even a majority of this board will drop their foolish defense of this War on Iraq. Most of you, anyway.

But...but...but...I thought the terrorists hated us for who we are, not what we do. If we pull out, then that means the terrorists win...doesn't it?

(So the argument goes.)

You have done more than drink the kool-aid. You would sell your mothers soul if it meant you wouldn't have to fight to protect this country.

It appears that you are in the cult-of-personality.

Hows Billy and the morons today.

Remember the Nazi party was also Socialist, just like the Democrats today.

Interesting how you have to willfully ignore the terrorists own manefestos and stated intentions to come to your conclusions.

India, Russia, Indonesia, Nigeria & Malaysia all suffer from Muslim terrorism fully and completely separate from whether or not they are in the Middle East or not. In fact, pretty much anywhere Muslim culture abuts a non-Muslin culture, there is terrorism. This is strong, factual evidence that suggests that the, 'No US in the Middle East = No terrorism' arguement is specious since US "culture" abuts pretty much the rest of the world.

Totalitarin ideologies will use ANY justification situationally. Once the US is out of the Middle East like you want, we will be met by more demands. In fact, anything we do will short of surrender and conversion to Islam will never be enough. Common-sense and even a cursory understanding of history should tell you that.

”“If we weren't in the Middle East, we would not have terrorism against the US. Simple as that.”

And:
* the reason Muslim terrorist attack India and China is?
* the reason Muslim terrorist slotter people in Sudan and Ethopia is?
* the reason Muslim terrorist has been murdering Amaricans even before GWI is?

Ron Paul used to be a hero of mine; he was one of the reasons I became a Libertarian. But now that I see Ron Paul and most Libertarians ignore facts in order too make an argument, shows me why I want nothing to do with the party.

[If we weren't in the Middle East, we would not have terrorism against the US. Simple as that.]

Disagree. What about 9/11? What about the school children in Russia? Or Spain being attacked AFTER they pulled out of the war because of the fearful leftists who only fight those who would do good. Many believe that all the Islamics want is to be left alone.
They are WRONG. They were at war with America and have been since the first attempt to destroy the American economy
in the early 1990's by bombing the parking garage.
Make no mistake, Islam is a world domination power and is as dangerous as communism or Nazism or any other tyrannical and violent force in the world.
Yakking at and signing peace aggreements have never stopped such nations from destroying others and won't stop them now.Only liberal democrats believe that world peace is possible with violent murderers in positions of power worldwide. The democrat liberal left is as dangerous as th e terrorists in that they continue to underestimate the intentions and motives of Islamic terrorism.
