Governor Blanco's Statement Regarding Vice Admiral Thad Allen
"I look forward to working with Vice Admiral Thad Allen in his new role as principal federal officer of recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Yesterday, he gave a comprehensive report to Vice President Cheney and me and demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of our situation. I welcome him and know that we must have a long-term relationship in order to alleviate the suffering and frustration of our people."
