I don't know. I have always thought they needed to get people out due to the disease factor and such. But the pictures they were showing were of dry areas. They showed the "guards" going through any open houses etc. If the area was flooded then I would understand if they were checking for trapped people. Perhaps they are searching for people in hiding or something. I don't know. It was bizarre to see this on American TV.

So, let's see. We now have them for violating the Second and Fourth Amendments, and they did this in the most Second Amendment friendly Federal court circuit.
The lawsuits of "civil rights violations" alone will bankrupt Louisiana.

Who's doing the confiscating? The NOPD? If martial law has not been declared, then the darn cops are breaking the law if they seize legally registered weapons.

Massive gun grab. Maybe all those cops who deserted took their firearms with them and this is Nagin's way of replenishing in the cheap.

It was the Nat'l Guard. One guy from the Oklahoma Nat'l Guard said it was weird to be doing this in America. His name was Fred Bible. He said it or one of the other guys did. It was NOT NOPD.

Who cares what the law is, obviously if you're in NO and want to keep your weapons you must either hide them or use them. When the next large scale disaster strikes, the precedent is now set, the authorities, are going to grab all the guns they can then no matter how bumbling or incompetent you will be at their mercy. This is going just the way the government wants, not a government of the people but one separate and above the people.

Weird, it's FRIGGING ILLEGAL. Where the heck is 43? Gonzales? They're letting Nagin act like a dictator.

Let that levee flood it again - forever - might as well - it can't be part of this country anymore.
