Yeah, but if they had left when they were supposed to, and taken their guns with them at that time, then no issue. Correct? See my point? Those who've remained behind, at this point, are more or less lawless, to an extent. I know I am painting a broad brush stroke but hopefully you can see my point.

I remember that. The Korean storeowners banded together atop their stores and defended it like Fort Apache.
Heroes!!

Strange that nobody seems to know for certain where this confiscation order originated. And where is Mayor Moonbat today? Has he been muzzled? Last I heard, Governor Dingbat was saying the evacuation order might not be legal. Is she commenting on this new development?

But most folks have bugged out. So who are these folks they are showing?

I was responding to the article. I was reporting what I saw on ABC myself.

The legally armed citizen knew this was coming 24 hours ago. If they thought about it, they could have formed a militia in short order. The police would have thought twice about going against an organized militia.
I got one word for you: Waco.
There are other reports that they have banned groups larger than about ten. Apparently they dispersed a group trying to walk out and fired shots over their heads to disperse them. That was a group of several hundred peaceful people evacuating. They were forced back into the city and dispersed.
If you did the militia thing, you might end up a bullet-ridden 'flood victim'. Who would know?
I would guess that RKBA organizations wiil be hard pressed to find any judges in LA to get stays on these actions. And I'm not sure if going directly to a Supreme Court justice is allowed since those few cases during Vietnam.

Okay, they'll get paid for their belongings, but what about their stuff? I know of a guy who has a really expensive Blues record collection, it's stored on the 2nd floor, and hence should be safe, but will they just come in and bulldoze his restaurant and house to the ground, and "oh well, your SOOL"?

I'll hire you if you hire me. It'll be cheap...
The reality is, they know the pros won't give them up. So they don't dare try it on them.

Maybe the problem is that even with the dry areas, what with the overall infrastructure compromised, and few services and businesses operating, they simply want to evac the whole city until they get the mess more sorted out. I will give the benefit of a doubt at this point.

"those with permits to own and carry weapons" As far as I know, in most of America, permits are not required for the ownership of weapons. Or to exercise any other Constitutional rights.

Is this even legal? It certainly isn't Constitutional but not enough people care for that to matter.
We saw the picture of the DEA agent searching a house. So I assume BATF is involved too.
Are they using BATF lists to find gun-owners?
To: GOP_1900AD
I don't care if they want to evac people. They still have no business taking their guns.

". . . police officers began confiscating weapons, including legally registered firearms . . ."So, if the guns are registered, then the police know their location. Suppose the people at that location have already left. Will the police break in and confiscate the guns "for the public safety"?
And just wot the L is a "legally" registered gun? When is a gun "illegally" registered?
