I have practically no use for any little dogs. All of them seem to be yapping all the time. I have always had big dogs and the last two have been Akita's. When they bark, you had better pay attention as they will not do it for nothing.

We had some volunteer watermelons growing behind our new house years ago. I waited and waited for them to ripen and then one morning at breakfast, this time of year, I looked out and saw 5 coyotes eating those melons. Pretty close to the house.

ok I stand corrected, but that is even more unlikely than being hit by lightning. I grew up in WA and heard coyotes every night. Almost never saw them. They ate our sheep once and all that was left were guts. The next night there was only scat left as they ate the guts.

That added a lot to a help request thread.
Thanks.
You have been her a while so I am just going to guess that you are simply drunk and don't know any better.

SS,
Those cats are in southern/western MA too. I've not seen one, but my parents have (they live in a rural area).
Nasty creatures, I hear.

Actually it sounds more like a bobcat or a mountain lion attack. Never seen a coyote jump an 8' fence and they make a lot of noise on the attack.

They can easily jump an 8 foot fence. I watched one glide over a 10 foot fence with absolute ease and then researched that that they can jump over up to a 20 foot fence.

Akita = bullet magnet.
Good luck with that.

Great information you all. Their were some tracks but not clear because most of the yard is in grass. The intestines were also left at the rear section of the yard away from the body.

No problem. A wild animal is capable of anything. When I'm in the woods or at a remote site, I pack my .45acp. When they're hungry enough, watch out.

Excellent post.
Same for rattlesnakes and copperheads in our area. They're on the endangered species list. As my uncle says, "around me they damn sure are!"

Sorry about your Doxie. We have one too and I have always even worried about large birds of prey. We have coyotes in VA too. We never leave her outside unattended. Sad....

OK it's more likely than getting struck by lightning. Geez things have changed since I was a kid. This never used to happen. I guess they should still shoot them on sight. They are very intelligent and USED to be afraid of people.

It mainly is because I have to put up with three of the yapping weiner mutts next door. Otherwise I would not have been so obstonate.
