I'm so fed up with listening to the rats and the press spin this giant lie about FEMA, i.e. are the first responders in an emergency- No one thought this was FEMA's roll until the rats decided they could capitalize on the misery, death, and destruction of hurricane Katrina, by dividing the nation, and blaming president Bush for the storm.

Aren't FEMA the people who show up AFTER the disaster with funding for rebuilding and arrangements for continued shelter exc,?- That's what they did in California, during/after the fires, a couple of years ago.

I hope and pray that the Republican's are NOT going to be chumps, and let the rats contimue with these lies. I hope they(pubbies) aren't going to assist them (rats) in covering up for their own neglect, and incompetence, by keeping silent, and not defending themselves, in the face of rat attacks. . Why would the republican's even think of doing that?

It is not fair to the people who went through all that misery, to cover up for those responsible. They need to know the truth- even if it means they find out that they elected the people who let them down.

That's going to be up to us.

These newer Moveon.org rats are as different from the Washington establishment rats as the pre-68 rats were from the post-68 rats.

The establishment types are trying to "ride the tiger" right now, but it will eventually consume them.

Our job is to make sure the rats implode rather than explode.

Do you sometimes wonder why newbees post negative items
regarding Bush late at night so they don't get much flack
and hoping FR folks read the items and turn to DU for
their knowledge.
FR folks are not that stupid.

So true. I don't WANT FEMA to be put in as the 1st responders. I want that to be my local and state people who know my area and the other areas of my state.

The only reason there was this huge push from the beginning to blame the President was to turn focus away from La. The reason for this disaster of the disaster aftermath in La is the corruption that runs up and down that state, which perpetuates an attitude of never doing anything but getting your graft.

Look what they did after the disaster drill last year, wrote a report and went on as if nothing mattered. Why? Well, if they actually FIXED anything that would mean having to take less graft, having to actually use Federal funds for their intended purpose rather than buying casinos, marinas, condos and so on, from which projects they also would have gotten their kick-backs.

It's corrupt, it seems it will always be corrupt.

"I hope and pray that the Republican's are NOT going to be chumps, and let the rats contimue with these lies."

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. I for one as a staunch conservative and Bush supporter, am getting fed up with incompetents holding positions of extraordinary authority, the consequences of which were felt with S.E.C. Chairman Pitt (remeber the Enron and World Com scandals?), and now Brown at FEMA. The facts speak for themselves and your burying your head in the sand do the current administration a disservice. If Cheney and Rumsfeld are one tenth as smart as I know them to be, they would have or should have known about Brown's lack of disaster relief and mitigation experience at the street level. Bush has been getting really bad advice on any number of issues during the past year...and I think he's being set up, by whom I know not, to take a fall, and by extension the Republican Party.
