I was listening to Michel Medved today and he said this amendment was stuck on a Marine Biology bill to sneak it through.

Yeah, that's right, the woman who I spoke with yesterday in one of the Governor's regional offices said that same thing. The bill was tagged onto some field biology necessities. Covert like, to no one's surprise.

It's illegal, likely. CA law is such that referendums cannot be trashed by the legislature, only by another referendum. Further, Prop 22 is currently LAW although it has been struck down by a SF judge. It *is* on appeal. So the legislature was on shaky legal ground here.
But now that they know they have the votes in the legislature you can bet this will be back just like the zombie "drivers licenses for illegals" from One-Bill-Gill.
