Hopefully that will happen with WXKS in Boston. My parents were very upset when they went to hear Glenn Miller but got Schultz instead.
From my days in the Boston area, Kiss-108 was a disco station.
I did have a preset for it. Only to get car radio to the top of the "dial" and start seeking downwards when all the
other presets failed to keep my attention.
I did have a boss that bought a condo above or below that gay black dj that I believe owned a piece of the station.
I used to listen to AM 1430 myself.I was heartbroken to hear that that Maoist claptrap had found its way there.
A couple weeks back, listeners to the _other_ AAR station in Boston, WKOX 1200 (Framingham) heard Spanish-language religious stuff--the format 'KOX had BEFORE the format switch last October--on a Fri afternoon at 3 pm, instead of Ed Schulz. Boston's radio-info.com board was buzzing: FORMAT CHANGE! AAR DUMPED! Not surprising, as they were getting a
0.2 rating (two tenths of one per cent of listeners were
tuned to them).
It was not to be. An error accidentally sent programming
intended for _another_ station to AM 1200. So both are
still AAR, but for how long? the ratings stink!
When WXKS 1430 dumped standards they dropped like a stone in the ratings. And what a surprise, a station out of Cambridge (WJIB AM 740) which had similar music, suddenly zoomed in the ratings. Big bands and "the music of your life" work
in Boston. Liberal talk radio doesn't!!
