Get a grip. FEMA is not a 'first responder'. The tragedy of the Super Dome and the Convention Center are the fault of local authorities. Not because they failed to evacuate them after the storm, that was a herculean task that had to take the time it die, but rather putting them in there in the first place.

If the levees had not broken this disaster would have been much less, in NO anyway. But once the levees went ... the refuge of the Dome and the Convention Center became death traps.

NO authorities should have realized this was possible but the pretended it was all a huge surprise. NO was one big death trap waiting to happen.

It's not Browns fault!

Bush declared a disaster on Saturday, and Brown waits until MONDAY to start moving people....

The guy is completely incompetent.

Wish more people would wake up to that fact.

He knows the important thing is to look good

Brown said that among duties of these employees was to "convey a positive image" about the government's response for victims.

I firmly believe it is all about a financial issue; all the NOLA officials were debating among themselves who would be responsible to foot the extra bill in connection with the evacuation transportation!??!

Exactly. Where is New Orleans Mutual Aid System? The Louisiana adjacent state Mutual Aid System? If those yahoos couldn't figure out they would need help that is their own fault.

I noticed that Florida EMS and Troopers were in Alabama as soon as the winds died down. There was a picture of Metro-Dade Fire in Alabama the next day.

News folks could get there. Criminals were getting there; but the mayor expected the FEDs to be the police?

If Brown were a Clinton administration official, somehow I think all this a-s-covering for him by freepers wouldn't be happening.
