...saying he picked the victims from a sheriff's Web site...

Okay, tinfoil hat time... Maybe he's a fanatical ACLU-type, who's out to discredit Megan's Law? A suicide confesser? Stranger things have happened.

No, he knew details that only the killer would know.

But he might still be a fanatical ACLU-type person who was willing to sacrifice a couple of hapless sex offenders (whom I feel zero sympathy for, btw) to his cause... In other words, just to advance his real agenda: which is to get the ball rolling on the repeal of Megan's Law.

Sorry, everyone, I just think there's something real fishy about this sudden confession. Doesn't make sense to me. WHY would you turn yourself in to be prosecuted just days after you apparently felt so strongly about the rightness of your cause that you were willing to murder someone over it? Sudden guilty conscience? Seems unlikely. Maybe this guy wants and needs the additional publicity. So that the rest of his story would be known. He WANTS us to know how he got the names off the internet (something we would never know unless he confessed), thanks to Megan's Law, etc. </Sherlock LibWhacker>
