Wash. man says he killed child rapists

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - A man turned himself in to authorities in the killing of two convicted child rapists, saying he picked the victims from a sheriff's Web site, police said.

Michael Anthony Mullen, 36, called 911 on Monday to claim responsibility for the killings, and officers who talked to him said he gave information that only the killer would know, according to a police news release. He was jailed for investigation of two counts of first-degree murder.

Hank Eisses, 49, and Victor Vasquez, 68, were found shot to death at their apartment Aug. 27. They were both classified as Level III sex offenders, considered the type most likely to reoffend. Sex offenders in Washington are required to register with local authorities, and the information is provided on the Web.

Mullen told authorities he targeted at least one of the two men after checking the county sheriff's Web site July 13, according to the police statement.

The bodies of Eisses and Vasquez were found by a roommate, also a sex offender. He said a man wearing a blue jumpsuit and a cap that said FBI on it came to their home, told them he was an FBI agent and said one of them was on a "hit list" on an Internet site, police said.

The roommate said he left while the "FBI" visitor was still there and found the bodies when he returned about four hours later.

Days after the killings, The Bellingham Herald received an unsigned letter claiming responsibility for the killings. Police notified convicted Level 3 sex offenders in the area as a precaution, but said the letter was vague and could be a hoax.

You imply there is something immoral in killing dangerous ceatueres, to protect one's self/kith&Kin/society...to dispatch a threat...

Thru the courts yes. I am not against the death penalty.

I wanted to know from where you based your "moral" viewpoint.

My upbringing and education.

It surely isn't the Bible. The Bible is repleate with the dispatching of the wicked. And not necessari;y by the "States" headsman.

I have met atheists that were more moral than many supposed Christians. Sorry, that argument wont wash.

From what source do you base your moral belief that it was murder and not jstifiable execution?

The laws of this nation for one. And my own personal morals for another.

I suppose you feel we needed to put the people in jail who execute the scum on death row for murder.

You seem a little unclear on the concept. State executioners are not murders. This guy is.

I can't believe that we have people here who don't get the distinction. Here's a hint - a state executioner does his work according to the law, this yahoo broke the law.

In this country, we believe in the rule of law. That means the guy should be prosecuted to the fullest, no matter how we may sympathize with what he's done. We don't excuse murder in this country just because we don't like the victim.

Bull! the Laws protecyting pedophiles, and numerous
other filth, were *NEVER* passed by the *People"

You seem a little unclear on the concept. Laws are not passed by the people. As Modernman said, laws are passed by the representatives of the people.

If you don't like what they do, turn those representatives out in the street and elect new ones.

If I'm ever raped or my child or family member raped there are many ways to set up a rapist or child molester so that you can kill them and not get caught. Get creative The cops and prosecutors probably won't bother when they have more important cases to deal with. They would have to prove it wasn't self defense and that is very difficult. They usually just take a vicitmized woman's or child's word for it because it wouldn't go over well in the community to try to put a raped child or woman in jail for defending themselves or calling them a liars. Just don't make it look blatant so they have no choice but to put you in jail. Juries and cops will let you off with a wink and nod.

I wonder why he turned himself in. It's not likely this is the case that would keep police up at night trying to solve. It would've went into the cold case file pretty quickly.

"I bet the courts disagree. This guy is going down for first degree murder. I will not feel one bit of sympathy for him when he does."

I'm not the least impressed with our Courts in this country any longer, so your assertation that they would not agree really affects my opinion not one whit.

These courts have given us the following

The largest MIS reading of the Constitution in our history with the redefinition of the Eminent Domain issue.

The continued Murder of hundreds of thousands, if not Millions of our unborn (true innocents) yearly.

Gun control decisions that do nothing to reduce crime.

The decision that approved the biggest limit on political free speech in our history.

As far as I'm concerned the Courts are as corrupt and crooked as the maggots they put in jail. The only reason most judges and lawyers aren't in jail yet is because they haven't been caught with thier pants down.

Yeah I'm cynical

Ahh but the social mores, ethics and beliefs *are*
set by the people, and their representatives have
failed the american people. The Courts are complict
with the ACLU in social destructionism, by legislating from the bench, laws that strip away the rights of the people to set their own mores, beliefs and ethics, and suborns them
to the irrationl, illogical and oerverted absolutist
interpretations that these jud\ges allow themselves to be legalesed into. Creating an irrational, shackled,
contradictory, unjust, lega;l code, based on no
foundation other than philosopcal constructs
that have no more sustainability that a hose of cards built on sand...The "Law", has become a fiction, built upon fiction, conflated with supposition, and pompositized
nto sounding like it's something of value...when
it no longer has legitmacy, the courts having stripped itself of claim to it.

What is the basis of the Supreme Courts Authority anymore?
What is the basis of any subsidiary courts legitimacy anymore?

"So change the system/laws legally."

It's what alot of us are trying to do, but there is such an ingrained system of liberal BS in this country it's not that easy.

In the meantime I will continue to cheer anyone who executes those who prey on the innocent.

So change the system/laws legally.

You're right - the rule of law is the only way. But the laws need to be changed when dealing with child sexual offenders. My granddaughter lives in the same general vicinity of the man who raped and buried alive the nine year old child. That crime has rocked this part of Florida. People are tired of monsters and the laws need to be changed before this type of vigilantism becomes more common. And common it will become...

>> No. Nail him for premeditated murder in the 1st degree.

First rational response.

I would give him consideration for a mental defect, possibly.

It is a little crazy to compare killing a child rapist to killing someone that walks on your grass.

But why? Is it because we've decided, as a society, what actions are in violation of the law, and what actions aren't? Because we've decided what the punishments are for those crimes? You say that the comparison is crazy, but the point is that it's not up to individuals to make a subjective analysis, and take the law into their own hands. It can't be up to individuals. It is a crazy comparison, and that's the point.
