I'm wondering how much Maryland crab meat and Gulf shrimp you ate in your 20,000 pop. Missouri town before Wal-Mart opened.

Actually, the Wal-Mart was here before I got here (7 years ago), but as little as two or three years ago, I bought Crisfield, MD packed fresh lump backfin, on occasion and Select pastuerized often. Most of the shrimp there was Gulf shrimp, I know it when I see it. Mid-Westerners don't seem to appreciate seafood that much, so maybe they just market the the good stuff where it is. A lady at my work once told me, "you can get the best crab cakes at Wal-Mart for just 79 cents each". When I told you cannot make a decent crab cake with less than $5.00 worth of crab meat, she just looked at me like I was nuts.
