I buy the "instant" Folgers...fortunately. There were 3 left on the shelf. *chuckle* The Dollar General is the same price here... so I don't bother making the extra stop. :)

Oops. Sorry. Did it again. The reply was for Westlander. I saw his comment in your post and replied to the wrong person.

Your right. 2 wally's were not allowed to build in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan recently. Voted down by local communities due to the negative impact on businesses and the community, 2 more are scheduled to close in southeast Michigan. You can count the number of their 'supercenters' on one hand here in MI. Full time employee means 32 hrs. per week....so they can skirt the minimum wage. P.S...don't even consider buying their junk oil filters by Fram...they all have cardboard endcaps inside. Never bought anything from wally, never will.

I'm wondering how much Maryland crab meat and Gulf shrimp you ate in your 20,000 pop. Missouri town before Wal-Mart opened.

OMG, that is funny. Are you suggesting Wal-Mart employees make less than minimum wage? [hoot]

I think we need Wal-Mart in charge of relief fundraising. They're already everywhere and they seem more committed than either Bush or Clinton.

The Wal Mart here in Grants Pass has 2 donations stations set up in the front of the Cash registers and signs at every register for donations.

Fine, you and your entire subdivision can avoid Walmart if they so choose. I like Walmart, and from the looks of it so do most people, except everyone in your subdivision of course!

Actually, the Wal-Mart was here before I got here (7 years ago), but as little as two or three years ago, I bought Crisfield, MD packed fresh lump backfin, on occasion and Select pastuerized often. Most of the shrimp there was Gulf shrimp, I know it when I see it. Mid-Westerners don't seem to appreciate seafood that much, so maybe they just market the the good stuff where it is. A lady at my work once told me, "you can get the best crab cakes at Wal-Mart for just 79 cents each". When I told you cannot make a decent crab cake with less than $5.00 worth of crab meat, she just looked at me like I was nuts.
